Wood has only very light handling marks, and there is a 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch shallow crack at the left sideplate. The buttplate is in excellent condition, and is the original one for this gun. Overall bluing on this gun is easily 92-95% strong original blue. There are a few small areas of roughness on the BBL, and a bit of bluing loss at the muzzle from shooting. Bores are MIRROR BRIGHT, with little to no evidence of firing. The wood has strong checkering, and the gun has tight lockup and excellent mechanical function. The frame retains vibrant and striking case colors, with only some fading on the underside of the frame where the gun would sit in the hand. This is a 12 gauge field grade featherweight model, as denoted by the FW prefix of the serial number. Smith side by side shotgun, made in 1935.
